About
ReStore
What is a Habitat for Humanity ReStore?
Habitat ReStores are nonprofit home improvement stores and donation centers. The stores are open to the public and the items they sell are similar to what you may find in other home goods stores, such as a brand-new box of tile you’ve been needing for your bathroom project or a vintage treasure you won’t find anywhere else. However, Habitat ReStores are more than just resell stores.
The purpose of Habitat ReStores is to contribute to the work of Habitat for Humanity. When you support your local Habitat ReStore by shopping, donating, or volunteering, you are helping families build or repair affordable homes in your community.
How does ReStore benefit our community?
Primary Benefits:
The primary benefit of a ReStore is to provide a funding source that will allow us to better serve our own community. These are funds will continue and grow our builds, repairs, and community service programs. Proceeds directly benefit the Habitat mission and keep the funds in the communities that they serve.
Secondary Benefits of a ReStore:
- Raise awareness of Habitat for Humanity within the community.
- Provide jobs and volunteer opportunities, as well as generate sales tax income.
- Offer affordable options for home improvement repairs and projects.
- Provide a location for a Community Center – a community space to gather, learn and create.
- Assist local business by providing tax and marketing alternatives to their donations as they clear out their surplus inventory.
- Provide a recyclable alternative.
Why should I shop at ReStore?
The prices are great, and you never know what you will find. But more than that, all proceeds from ReStore sales support Habitat for Humanity’s mission to help provide new and repair homeownership opportunities.
When you shop ReStore, you help Habitat build.
At Restore, you can shop for furniture, home decor, appliances, building materials, and more!
Make a Donation
Today, there are over 1,000 Habitat ReStores in six countries providing a large part of the funds needed to continue our mission. As with other affiliates, we need secure and recurring funding that can come from a Habitat ReStore in order to meet and exceed our service to the community.
